Abstract

213,196. Bentley, Ltd., J., Bentley, G., Hill & Herbert, Ltd., and Herbert. W. Oct. 2, 1923. Washing-machines with closed or enclosed rotary receptacles.-The door of the outer receptacle 1 comprises a sliding upper portion 9 and a lower portion 10 pivoted at 12, the latter open ing in a forward and downward direction below the centre line of the machine, being limited ii its movement by a lug 13. When the portion 10 is open it lies in a straight line with the partition 3 that divides the clothes receptacl into two parts, thereby facilitating the removal of the clothes when the door 7 is raised. An extension 14 of the door 10 bridges the spac between the two casings. A spring to counterbalance the weight of the door 10 and locking bolts and operating levers therefor are provided.
