Screw and like propellers, propeller guards; driving- arrangements for screw propellers.-Screw propellers or conveyers comprising a screw within a tube which is rotat. able are made with a screw member formed from a single blade which is twisted on itself and has no central clear passage or central shaft. The section of the propeller is such that the screw forms a diameter of the outer tube. The single plate 1 is twisted on itself and is secured in or integral with the casing 2. The plate is extended at one end to form the driving-shaft 4. Alternatively the casing has an external gear which can be suitably driven.
