Abstract

208,800. Jones, F. C. Sept. 28, 1922. Pumps with stirring devices in barrels; cleaning.-In a machine for mixing liquids, of the kind comprising two pumps, one of which feeds one liquid to the main pump which draws a second liquid from another source and discharges the two after mixing, an independent device is provided in the. main pump barrel for mixing the liquids. The main pump 1 draws liquid through an inlet 5, the other liquid being supplied by the auxiliary pump 11 which is simultaneously operated with the main pump. The mixing device comprises a baffle plate 8 which can be reciprocated or rotated by means of a rod 9. Cocks 16*, 18 are provided for the admission of cleansing fluids, the outlet 6 being closed during the cleansing operation by a stopper 7.
