Abstract

206,952. Fischer, G. Aug. 29, 1922. Rotary machines ; printing-surfaces.-A rotary machine of the kind described in Specification 1925/87 for printing impressions of different sizes comprises an impression cylinder d, supplied with a web c by feed-rollers z, and co-operating with two printing-rollers formed by cores h of constant diameter, to which can be secured segmental printing-plates g of variable thickness and of a length to produce the desired size of printed impression. The printing-rollers are constructed, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, of two semi-cylindrical shells h<1> fixed by screws t to a band s secured to a central shaft i. The shells h<1> are formed with dovetailed slots i for receiving keys k to which are screwed the clamps n which engage the edges of the plates g to hold them in fixed position.
