An offset cylinder 2 is mounted in eccentric bearings for movement towards and away from an impression cylinder 1 and a plate cylinder 3, the eccentric bearings comprising two eccentrics 2<SP>11</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP>, one within the other. The first eccentric 2<SP>11</SP> is constructed so that during a predetermined range of angular adjustment thereof the offset cylinder is adjusted relative to impression cylinder 1 without changing positive relation to the plate cylinder 3. The second eccentric 2<SP>1</SP> is so constructed that during a predetermined range of angular adjustment thereof the offset cylinder 2 is withdrawn from the plate cylinder 3, but not displaced relative to the impression in a first stage of the adjustment, is withdrawn from the impression cylinder and displaced relative to the plate cylinder in a second adjustment stage and is advanced towards the plate cylinder, but withdrawn from the impression cylinder in a third adjustment stage. The eccentric 2<SP>11</SP> is actuated by a pneumatic piston 8 connected to an arm 26 having a slot 5, the ends of which can engage adjustable stops 25, 25<SP>1</SP>. The arrangement may be utilized in a four-cylinder machine so as to permit twocolour printing on one side or single colour printing on two sides with the addition of a further cylinder which bears against the cylinder 1. For single colour printing, the web to be printed is passed between cylinders 1 and the further cylinder and for two colour printing on one side, the web is passed between cylinder 1 and the further cylinder, around guide rollers, and then between cylinders 2, 3.
