Abstract
205,404. Soc. Anon. Brevets Fourcault. Oct. 24, 1922, [Convention date]. Glass furnaces.-In a tank furnace for the manufacture of sheet glass and having a series of drawing apertures a, a<1>, &c., Fig. 1, with intervening chambers b, b<1> &c. all supplied from a main furnace at one end, the necessary even temperature is maintained by heating the side walls as well as by the use of the usual gas flames entering at c, c<1> &c. For this purpose the walls are hollow and are heated either by special burners arranged therein, Fig. 5, or by the hot gases escaping from the chambers b, b<1> &c., Fig- 7, or from the main furnace.
