Abstract

205,378. Wennerby, A. O. L. Nov. 28, 1922. Cam-actuated pumps ; lever-actuated pumps ; rack-and-pinion actuated pumps.-The fuel pumps 18, 19 of an internal-combustion engine are actuated by cams mounted on shafts 10, 11 which -are oscillated by the engagement of pinions 12, 13 with a rack 14 connected to the piston 4 of the airpump. The return stroke of the pumps 18, 19 is effected by springs as shown. The rack teeth 14 may be replaced by abutments or cam members arranged to oscillate the cam-shafts 10, 11. Specification 190,037, [Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of], is referred to.
