Abstract
204,714. Le Guellec, J. Sept. 26, 1922, [Convention date]. Jacks.-In self contained hydraulic jacks the cylinder b, c is annular and surrounds the reservoir c<1>. Water is drawn from the reservoir through the passage e and past the ball valve g bv a pump f and is forced through the passage h and past the ball valve i to the underside of the piston d. A passage k containing a valve k' connects the cylinder directly to the passage e. When it is desired to lower, the tubular part F of the handle is removed from the lever f<1> and engaged with a pin f<3> on the head of the spindle of the valve k<1>. The handle is then turned to open the valve k<1> The handle can also be locked in a socket C in the base B and used to position the jack. An aperture l<1> in the top of the piston is closed by a member l mounted on the top of the reservoir when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke.
