Abstract
213,337. Watts, W. W. Dec. 30, 1922. Lubricating-cans.-A container a communicates by a valve e with a cylinder b having a hollow piston g. A tube k is fitted to the piston g and protrudes through a nozzle c screwed to the cylinder b. The piston g, which has a non-return valve h, is retained, normally, in the position shown by a compression spring f, the cylinder b being full of lubricant. In use a cap l, having a pin n to keep the tube k free from dirt, and also a hook m, is removed from the nozzle c, the end of the tube k is applied to the place to be lubricated and downward pressure is applied to the container a whereupon the piston g rises and discharges the lubricant in the cylinder b through the valve h and through the tube k to the place desired. On releasing the pressure the piston g returns to its normal position under the action of the spring f and the valve e opsns so as to recharge the cylinder b.
