Disinfecting; disinfecting-chambers.-Insects such as moths, worms, and beetles which infect materials such as fabrics wood, fibre, and tobacco are destroyed by placing the infested objects in a sealed chamber, evacuating the greater part of the air therefrom, and admitting dry ammonia gas to act on the objects at ordinary temperatures for a suitable period of time.
