Abstract

202,201. Carson, J. H. M. Oct. 16, 1922. Spinal supports.-A body brace for correcting spinal curvature is provided with an extension 17 pivoted at 16 and fastened to the leg of the wearer by a band 18. The brace consists of a band 1 to which is fixed a metal plate 3 carrying adjustable bars 4, 5 supporting back and side pads 6, 7 and shoulder supports 8, 9. The latter are adjustably secured to a plate 10 pivoted at 11 to a bar connecting the bars 4, 5. The plate 10 can be held in any position by a nut 13. The pad 7 is adjustable, and can be fixed by nuts 14. The band 18 is provided with an adjusting-strap and buckle 19, and is reinforced by an interior metal strip which is riveted to the arm 17.
