Abstract
A recording sheet for pressure- sensitive recording is of the type comprising a support having thereon a color-developing coating containing in a water-soluble composition a colour developer (which colour forms by receiving an electron from a colourless colour former present in an adjacent layer). The colour-developing coating includes, in a water-soluble binder or latex binder (e.g. starch or polyvinyl alcohol), (i) a polyvalent metal salt (e.g. Zn, Sn, Al, Mg or Ca) of an aromatic carboxylic acid (wherein a benzene ring may be substituted with a halogen atom or various groups), (ii) a clay mineral, and (iii) a water-soluble zinc salt (organic or inorganic). This coating can be used with known color formers (e.g. triarylmethane compounds) and gives good colour forming.
