Abstract
200,802. Westinghouse Brake & Saxby Signal Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Compagnie des Freins Westinghouse). July 11, 1922, [Convention dale]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Couplings, disconnectible.-Pressure-retaining valves such as are applied to the exhaust passages of the triple valves of the brakes of railway trains to prevent release of the brakes when it becomes necessary to recharge the auxiliary reservoirs during an application of the brakes are mounted so as to be readily detachable when not required. For this purpose the retaining valve f is disposed in a part d adapted to be coupled to a part a fixed to the vehicle and connected to the exhaust pipe c of the triple valve. The coupling shown is of the kind commonly used for coupling the train-pipe except that only the washer g on the removable part d is of rubber, the washer h which is subject to exposure being of bronze. The recess containing the valve f is closed by a threaded nut e provided with an exhaust passage k.
