Abstract

The temperature stability of a servoed accelerometer having a proof mass, a detector means for measuring the deflection of the proof mass, and a restoring means including a coil cooperating with a permanent magnet to restore the proof mass to a null position, is significantly improved by utilizing permanent magnets composed of Co5(GdxSmx-1) where x ranges from 0.20 to 0.55, which has a flux output substantially independent of temperature.
