Abstract

199,650. Adams, E. L. Sept. 26, 1922. Ferrules.-A ferrule for crutches, wooden legs, walking-sticks, &c. comprises a socket a of moulded rubber &c. and a cup-shaped metal liner b located therein for receiving the stick &c. A flange c of the liner, which may be screw-threaded, engages the rim of the socket, and a space d between the base of the liner and the bottom of the socket forms a pneumatic cushion. The liner prevents the tendency of the stick to pierce the base of the rubber socket.
