Abstract

223,441. Ebert, H. F. Dec. 27, 1923. Strengthened end handles with screwed sockets or bayonet joint locking-devices.- The part 6 of a non-metallic handle of a shaving or other brush, is provided with a metal sleeve or member 8, Fig. 2 or 16, Fig. 3, the outer edge 9 of which is spun over a bead 7 on the part 6, and the inner part is spaced from the wall of the part 6 to allow of free expansion; and the brush tuft 12 is secured by cement 14 or other means in a metal member 10 having a knurled edge 11. The members 8, 10 may be screw threaded for engagement as shown in Fig. 2, or the member 16 may be formed with bayonet slots 17 for engagement of pins 19 on the member 10 as shown in Fig. 3.
