Abstract
198,358. Koch, H. May 24, 1922, [Conrc).t;N;tdate]. Rotary apparatus.- A liquid atomizer, more particularly for hydrocarbons containing impurities, comprise a revolving power-driven dished disc 3 mounted on a vertical axis enclosed in a rasing and fed with liquid by one or more vertical feed pipes 14 mounted eccentrically to the disc, liquid from the disc being sprayed through an opening 5 with its axis tangential to the disc so that a portion of the liquid passes therethrough without change of direction. Baffles 7, 6 are provided, one or both of which are slidable in the casing so that the volume of spray may be regulated. The slidable baffle 7 may be connected to a lever 8 by which its position is adjusted. The atomized oil is fed into a current of air which is fed through a passage 10 leading to an annular slot 11 surrounding the nozzle 5. Unatomized liquid drains away through the passage 13 and is returned to the disc by a pump.
