Abstract

196,511. Johnson & Phillips, Ltd., and Stevens, C. J. H. June 8, 1922. Junction &c. boxes; earth-continuity couplings. -Cables are gripped and bonded to junction boxes &c. by a split lead brush H embraced by a hollow ring I, for example of soft brass or copper. A sleeve K drawn towards the box L compresses the ring I, causing a radial pressure upon the bush H which is forced on to the cable. A flanged lead bush F in the hole G is simultaneously pressed against the box. The armour wires may be laid upon the cored exterior of the sleeve K and clamped by a second sleeve M.
