Abstract

576,573. Conduit and cable joints. TURNER, F. C. Feb. 21, 1944, No. 3179. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In connecting a conduit or cable within the boss 2 of a junction box 1, two concentric, split, resilient bushes 3, 4 having complementary tapered surfaces 5, 6 are wedged on the conduit 9. The bush 4 has a heavy flange 10 by which it is driven, and the bushes are locked together by a tongue 15 on the bush 3 engaging a slot 14 in the bush 4. In connecting two conduits 9a, 9b, Fig. 4, the inner bush 3 only is split, and has an internal shoulder 16 against which the conduits abut.
