Abstract
195,939. Marce, J. J. P. April 8, 1922, [Convention date]. Addition to 186,919. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Spray carburettors; vaporizers, external.-The electric heater described in Specification 186,919 is modified in detail and utilized for heating thei mixture and fuel. The figure shows a c arburettor in which an electric resistance wire d is placed in a cage e having a lining c of thin metal closable air inlets f, and outlets g which are provided with gauze covers h. The portion of the wall c above the throttle valve o may be of gauze. The pipe m supplying a starting jet may pass through the cage e and the cage may extend downwards to include the space surrounding the choke tube, the float-chamber and other parts of the carburretor. The heater may be made as a unit to be placed between the carburettor and the induction-pipe, the air outlet g then acting to dilute the charge.
