Abstract

193,092. British Thomson - Houston Co., Ltd., (General Electric Co.). Oct. 14, 1921. Thermionic oscillation generators.- In a thermionic negative resistance device arranged for the production of oscillations in the manner described in Specification 103,865, the electrode which emits the secondary electrons or " dynatrons " is maintained at an average negative potential. The Figure shows an arrangement in which the load circuit 10 is coupled to the anode circuit of such a device. The anode 3 is maintained at a high positive potential, say between 300 and 1,000 volts, by a direct current source 5, whilst the electrode 4 which emits the secondary electrons is connected in the usual manner to an oscillatory circuit 6, 7, but is maintained at a negative potential by a battery 8. The production of oscillations is started by giving the electrode 4 a momentary positive charge. Specification 148,131 also is referred to.
