Abstract
162,067. Eccles, W. H., and Vincent, J. H. Jan. 21, 1920. Thermionic oscillation generators.-In circuits employing three-electrode valves for generating oscillations, the retroactive coupling and the filament current are automatically related by a mechanical connection between the two adjusting means, with a view to maintaining constancy of the frequency of the oscillations generated. The Figure shows, for a given coupling, the relation between filament current i and wave-length L. The automatic adjustment is such that the flat part of the curve is always utilized, so that any alteration of filament current due to running down of the battery, or such like causes, produces the minimum alteration on the wave-length.
