Abstract

6833. British Thomson-Houston Co., [Vereinigte Dampfturbinen Ges.]. March 19. Regulating.-The supply of high and low pressure steam into a mixed-pressure turbine driving an electric generator is controlled by a valve 1 moved by a fluid relay. The pilot valve 21 for the relay is actuated by a load-responsive device comprising a solenoid 39, while the casing 20 for the pilot valve is moved by a speed-responsive device, such as a centrifugal governor or a solenoid shunted across the generator terminals.
