Abstract

325. Blair, J. H. Jan. 6. Cleaning.- A cleaning-rod for small-arms comprises a number of interlocking sections 1, Figs. 1 and 2, through which passes a chain 2 attached to a swivel head 3 and passing along a bifurcated handle 8. The sections are assembled for use as shown in Fig. 1, and are retained in that position by means of a claw 9 which engages the chain, and also by screwing the handle 8 along the end section 1<b>. The connecting-piece 1<a> has parts 5 depressed into grooves in the swivel head 3 and also in the swivel piece 12, to which is connected the piece 13 carrying the swab and the brush 15. Fig. 2 shows the parts as arranged when not in use.
