Abstract

26,636. Liebscher, C. O. Dec. 16. Carding-engines.-The fleece is removed from the doffer P in two or more longitudinal strips F, F<1>, which are placed one upon another on the delivery apron T with their fibres inclined to one another. The angle of inclination may be varied, different sets of delivery apparatus being for this purpose interchangeable among themselves. Figs. 4 and 4<a> show an arrangement in which one half of the fleece from the doffer is cut by a suitable reciprocating blade M into lengths equal to the width of the delivery apron, upon which they are laid transversely, the other half of the fleece from the doffer being passed through an inclined slot in a guide P' and turned through a right-angle so that the fibres are laid lengthwise on the apron T.
