Syringes; gas injectors and douches.-A syringe for liquids or gases and particularly for hypodermic injections is fitted with a plunger comprising a hollow tube A of compressible material, such as rubber or leatherite, mounted between two closely-fitting rigid cups C and secured to the enlarged portion D of the plunger rod by a screw B. The diameter of the shank of the screw B is less than the internal diameter of the tube A. The diameter of the plunger is adjusted by turning the screw B either before inserting the plunger into the syringe or, if the end cap K of the syringe he removable, after insertion. The upper end of the syringe barrel may be tapered internally to facilitate the insertion of the plunger.
