Abstract

183,614. White & Poppe, Ltd., and Thompson, J. S. May 9, 1921. Trueing rotating tools.-A hard grinding wheel B is dressed by a rotatably-mounted metal member A, such as a steel disc of a profile which is the exact counterpart of the grinding wheel. The disc A is fed against the wheel B whilst being slowly rotated by a handle A<3>. A lateral feed may be given if desired. The wheel B, if mounted in its own machine, is disconnected so as to run free. The disc A is split at A<5> for taking up wear.
