180,865. Villiers Engineering Co., Ltd., and Bradley, J. April 27, 1921. Magneto-electric machines.-In an ignition and lighting generator of the rotating-magnet type having a stationary armature of H or U form, windings in series with one another are arranged upon each of the armature uprights, the gaps between which have an angularly staggered relationship with the magnet poles. In the fly-wheel magneto shown, the uprights A, A2 carry the lighting coils D, D2 and the cross-bar A3 carries the ignition windings B, The end-cheeks A4, A5 are shaped so that they partly surround the winding D, D2 and the gaps between the points A8, A9 are not diametrically opposite to one another and are angularly staggered with reference to the magnet poles C2, C3.
