Abstract
180,136. Potter, E. K. March 29, 1921. Fixed-chamber apparatus; moving-chamber apparatus; varying quantity measured in.- Comprises a container or caddy adapted to deliver vulverulent material or tea in measured quantities. The measuring chamber g is located in the bottom of the container, which immediately above the measure is fitted with a hopper c. The outlet f of the hopper is cut off by a pivoted knife h moved by a button j cooperating with a fixed knife h'. At the same time as this cut-off is operated, the delivery outlet door k is opened by a spring. The capacity of the measure can be varied by forming it with pivoted sides l the pivot pins of which may be operated by a turn button and toothed gears or linkage. The measure may be constructed of tin-plate stampings. In the case of a large container a drop-bottom is fitted to the measure no tilting of the container being necessary.
