Abstract
176,616. Southerst, J. Feb. 3, 1921. Hones. - A hone for sharpening safety and other razors, knives, scissors, &c., comprises a piece of glass 1, Fig. 1, having a ground operative face 4. As shown, the glass has secured to its under surface a piece of baize &c. 2, and is provided with a fence or handle 3. The glass may, however, be mounted in a box having a lid; or it may have one surface ground and the other surface polished, pieces of material being fitted at its ends to prevent slipping. In a modification, Fig. 5, two pieces of glass are employed with their ground faces 4 opposed and spaced slightly apart, the pieces being held together at their ends by caps 8 of lead or other material. Or the spaced pieces of glass may be connected by a central holder, slight movement of the pieces being allowed.
