Abstract
175,819. Webster, R. Dec. 10, 1920. Securing rollers on shafts.-In rollers, for example for sugar cane mills, formed with a socket 1 disposed off-centre and adapted to be entered by a driving crank or eccentric 2 projecting from the face of a disc-like end 4 of the shaft or driver 3, the end 4 which is stepped to form a shoulder 6 is secured centrally in the end of the roll by studs 5. The gudgeons at each end of the roll may be similarly fitted. A divided cast iron or other washer 7 may be provided. According to the Provisional Specification, the shaft may traverse the roll for its entire length, and it may be bored for the passage of cooling-liquid.
