Belts of the kind comprising double leather or like links 2 connected by single metal links 1, as described in Specification 13412/04, have metal or like inextensible plates 4 upon the inner faces of the links 2, which are gripped between end flanges 7 upon the plates. Pins 6 upon the metal links 1 pass through elongated holes 5, Fig. 5, in the plates 4 so as to engage the leather links without touching the plates. Screws 3 hold the links 2 together in pairs.
