Abstract

Joints with yielding outer part compressed. - Means for connecting a hose or other flexible pipe e to a metal pipe f comprise a sleeve a having a tapered and screw-threaded bore c and provided with nutfaces b on its periphery, engaging with a pliable packing d so as to form threads thereon by deformation of the outer part. The sleeve may also be formed with projecting stems for use in tightening up. The packing may be wound round the hose, preferably in a tapered manner.
