Abstract
171,225. Heaven, F. H. Aug. 30, 1920. Building blocks and slabs, special shapes of.-Hollow walls are formed of slabs A, C rabbeted to engage in grooves in pier blocks D. the grooves being splayed and sunk with rounded bottoms and deeper than the nibs E so that spaces F are formed into which metal bars may be inserted. Similar blocks and slabs may be used in constructing chimney flues and recesses for fireplaces, as shown for example in Fig. 5. The recesses may be in pairs side by side or back to back, and iron bonds may be used in the joints of the pier blocks.
