Bricks, building blocks and slabs, special shapes of. - A block or slab A of the kind having grooves a upon all four jointing faces to receive grouting, is rabbeted at the opposite edges of one horizontal jointing face and correspondingly tongued on the other horizontal face, so that successive courses interlock. Similar interlocking tongues and grooves may be formed on the vertical jointing faces. When used for double walls, the inner top edges of the blocks or slabs are formed with transverse recesses, as shown in Fig. 5, to accommodate wall-ties E. Specification 235,331 is referred to.
