Abstract
164,881. McGuire, J. J. March 24,1920. Vehicle windows; rattling of windows, preventing. - Relates to windows in an opening-top for the body of a motor vehicle which comprises front and rear superstructures arranged to fold down into the body so as to enable the body to be converted into a closed limousine, an open or closed twoseater, or a partly or fully open fourseater. The rear superstructure comprises a rigid head 40, Fig. 1, pivoted between the sides of the body at 43 so as to fold downwardly and forwardly as shown in Fig. 3, and is provided with sliding windows 61. The front superstructure comprises three roof sections 70, 71, 72 hinged together, section 71 being carried by pillars 75 hinged at 76 and sections 70, 72 being detachably connected to removable pillars 82, and to wind-screen members 30 respectively. A transverse panel is detachably mounted between the section 72 and the top of an adjustable hinged seat-back 110 and may be disposed in a slot in the seat-back when out of use. The doors 25, 26 are provided with windows 130, 131, sliding respectively in guides 140, 141 and 160, 161 hinged to the upper corners of the doors, rattling in the guides being prevented by springs 150, Fig. 10. The bottom rails of the windows 130, 131, 61 are fitted with hooks 133 engaging fixed rails 134 when the windows are closed. The windows 100, 170 are removable.
