Abstract
161,754. Baillie, R. Feb. 4, 1920. Forced and induced draught systems; regenerators.-Means for supplying warmed air to a boiler furnace comprise an annular space b formed by a double funnel, down which air is drawn by a fan f. The space b has a partially-closed slit m at the top so that the draught is assisted by the relative motion between the funnel and the atmosphere. The warmed air is collected by tubes c, and delivered by the pipe e to dampered flues g formed by hollow partitions in the uptake, whence it passes to the furnaces. A double centrifugal fan is suitably employed, arranged to draw in fresh air and exhaust the furnace gases simultaneously.
