Abstract

The intention of using this pump inking unit is to be able to process printing ink of all customary viscosity ranges and nevertheless to ensure precise meterability and rule out so-called dripping to the greatest possible extent. The ink application units (1) arranged in zones are supplied with ink by an ink pump (4). The ink pumps (4) are designed as gearwheel pumps which can each be driven via a gear mechanism (6, 7). Provided for driving the gear mechanisms is a continuous shaft (10) which rotates at the speed of the machine. The rotary drive speeds of the gear mechanisms (6, 7) are adjustable within a range comprising the value zero. <IMAGE>
