Abstract
152,136. GrÚgoire, P. July 15, 1919. Toothed gearing.-The bevel pinion driving the axle of a motor-vehicle is carried in bearings adjustable in two directions at right-angles to each other. The pinion shaft b is carried in an axiallymovable bearing i and a thrust bearing j which is held in a sleeve g. The two bearings are held together by a nut n and a flanged sleeve l which is keyed on the pinion shaft and through which the drive is transmitted. The sleeve g screws into a socket c so adjusting the pinion o axially, and the socket c is adjustable laterally by means of screws p. Bolts e hold the socket in the adjusted position, and a locking-ring h secures the sleeve g in the socket.
