Abstract

1504450 Tentering LINDAUER DORNIER GmbH 19 Oct 1976 [24 Dec 1975] 43307/76 Heading D1S [Also in Division B5] A stenter clip chain, e.g. for stretching thermoplastics film, comprises a guide rail 1 having vertical surfaces 6, 6', 7, 7' engaged by vertical - axis rollers 8, (8'), 8", (8"'), 9, (9'), 9" (9"') and top and bottom edges 10, 10' against which rollers 11, 12 respectively, bear. The rail 1, which may be of multi-ply construction, is clamped by a stud 4 in a web 3. The rollers 11 carry the weight of the clips or clip chain 13 and the rollers 12 prevent vertical lift-off or jumping-off of the rollers 11 and may be provided at intervals along the chain, i.e. not necessarily at every clip. The rollers are all mounted on a carrier 14 which combines upper and lower clip chain sections 15, 15' to form a double chain 16 and which carries a tenter clip 17.
