Abstract

149,849. Brinton, W. C. Sept. 12, 1919. Motor wheels.-Comprises a vehicle wheel and its driving-motor aranged co-axially and adapted to be turned about a vertical axis for steering, the motor casing being pivotally connected to a fixed axle-bar. The trunnion or swivel connexion between the axle-bar 11 and the motor casing 14 is disposed entirely above the motor casing. In one form, Fig. 1, the pivot 22 is mounted in a socket 20, passes through the axle-bar, and has a trunnion biock 24 secured by a bolt in a receptaole extending upwardly from the motor casing. In another form, Fig. 5, the casing is made with an integral trunnion projection 32.
