Abstract
515,840. Tip-wagons. JONES, Ltd., W., and FURGUSON, T. M. June 10, 1938 No. 17333. [Class 108 (i)] In a motor tip-wagon the body 24 is pivoted about an horizontal axis 22 on an auxiliary frame 9, which is rotatably mounted on the main frame 5 so that the body can tip in any direction and is connected by a pivot pin 7 to the axle 6 of a pair of steerable wheels 2 so that these wheels and the auxiliary frame swivel together suitable guide and retaining tracks 13, 17 for the auxiliary frame are disposed on the main frame. Tipping and steering are controlled by means of a U-shaped frame 28 pivoting about an axis 27 and connected by togglelinks 30 to the body 24. A modification is described in which the auxiliary frame is supported on rollers. Specifications 450,353 and 475,161 are referred to.
