Abstract

1498163 Supporting hooks KNOCK-NLOCK INTERNATIONAL INC 6 May 1975 [14 May 1974 31 May 1974 26 Aug 1974] 19061/75 Heading E2A [Also in Division F2] A nail to be hammered into a penetratable wall 26, e.g. of plasterboard, comprises a shank 12 with a point 14 at one end and a head 16 at the other end, the nail having at least one flexible projection 22, 24 integral with the shank 12 and extending therefrom near the point 14 to lie back along the shank towards the head 16, and the head 16 being shaped to enable engagement by a tool for turning the nail about its longitudinal axis after it has been driven into the wall, so that the projection(s) 22, 24 become twisted about the shank (Fig. 4) and wedged against the wall material to lock the nail in place. Preferably the nail is a one-piece plastics moulding, e.g. of nylon. The head 16 has an offset hook 20 on which an article may be hung, and a screwdriver slot 18. The two projections 22, 24 are on diametrically opposite sides of the shank and extend almost to the head 16. One projection 24 springs from nearer the point 14 than the other. In use, the nail is driven in with the hook inverted, Fig. 2, and is then turned through 180‹. The projections may be serrated.
