Abstract

1292103 Releasable fastenings A RAYMOND 5 March 1970 [12 March 1969] 10707/ 70 Heading E2B A fastener for attaching an article 4 to a support 3 having a headed stud 2 which projects therefrom comprises a generally flat body having a slot 12 extending inwardly from one side edge thereof of a width such that the stud can be slid there along, feet 11, 11a extending downwardly from the body on opposite sides of the slot and adapted to bear against the support and press the body resiliently against the head 21 of the stud when the stud is located in the slot, a resilient tongue 13 overlying the slot in the body and formed with an abutment edge 16 adapted to bear against the head of the stud when the stud is located in the slot to resist withdrawal of the stud therefrom and an arm 17 projecting outwardly of the body from the side opposite to the side from which the feet extend and adapted to engage the article. In the construction shown there are two arms 17 which extend from the body on opposite sides of the tongue and the edge 16 is the edge of a projection of the tongue. In a modified construction however the free end portion of the tongue is the width of the body and it is connected to the body by two legs with the arm extending between the legs, in this construction instead of the arm being of hook shape as shown it has a lug extending downwardly the edge of which engages the article. As shown the article is a moulding 4 which is used to conceal the gap between a windscreen 5 and the support 3.
