Abstract

1485445 Electrical connector SEPM SA 4 Nov 1974 [2 Nov 1973] 47656/74 Heading H2E A connector comprises an internally threaded slit cylinder 5 and a cap member 12 which both engages and covers the cylinder and comprises a clamping member 17 held captive and resiliently supported inside a hollow screw portion 13. The clamping member is rotationally free inside screw 13 and comprises a reduced annular bearing surface (21a, 21b, Fig. 3, not shown) which is of substantially the same size as the slit width and which is said to provide a high clamping pressure. A sawtooth thread and the engagement of rib 23 in flutings 22 on the cap prevent inadvertent separation of the cap and cylinder.
