1474708 Withdrawing air from open end rotors VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY 18 Oct 1974 [24 Oct 1973 (2)] 45531/74 Heading DID An open-end spinning unit comprises a rotary spinning chamber whose outer wall 2 flares from the annular edge of its open face 15 the outer wall being surrounded by a volute air collecting space 17 whose radial width increases in the direction of chamber rotation towards an air outlet, and the chamber lid 5 being spaced from the edge of the chamber and containing a fibre supply duct 7. Suitable ratios of areas of the fiber inlet duct, yarn exit duct and passage between the chamber and its lid are given. The cone apex angle of the rotor exterior is preferably 55‹-75‹.
