Abstract
1470569 Ignition circuits RONSON PRODUCTS Ltd 1 May 1975 [3 May 1974] 19652/74 Heading FIB In an ignition circuit having a transistor blocking oscillator having an output transformer 21, a rectifier 32 for rectifying the output of the oscillator, an ignition capacitor 33 for receiving the rectified output from the blocking oscillator and means 35 for discharging the ignition capacitor across the primary winding 34 of an ignition transformer 22, the secondary of which is connected to a pair of spaced electrodes 36, a voltage breakdown device 31 is located in series with the rectifier so that the ignition capacitor is charged via the breakdown device. The voltage breakdown device may be a voltage stabilizer tube or a Zener diode. A diode 37 may be connected in the base circuit of the blocking oscillator. The invention finds particular but not exclusive application in ignition circuits used in smokers lighters.
