Abstract

1470518 Securing railway rails MOLYNEUX RAIL CLIPS Ltd 16 April 1974 [24 April 1973] 19498/73 Heading E1G In a rail fastening wherein a spring metal clip, such as 11, Fig. 1, is supported by a rigid member 1 mounted alongside the rail, the rigid member 1 has an integral ear or ears 17 projecting over the rail flange 4 and directly engageable with the rail to limit upward deflection of the clip if the rail is warped or twisted. The bent plate spring 7-9-11 of Fig. 1 is located between ears 17 of an inverted-dish member 1 providing also a rail abutment 3 which is laterally adjustable by rotation of an eccentric bush 13 on a fixed bolt 6. In a modification, Fig. 4, the spring clip comprises a loop of resilient steel bar 36-37-38 having convergent or parallel legs 39 housed beneath lips 35 of a rigid railside member 23 laterally adjustable by rotation of an eccentric bush 26 on an upstanding stud, the rigid member 23 having a single ear 40 projecting over the rail flange 21 to limit upward deflection of the clip.
