1466437 Table tennis bat HOCHST AG 18 Sept 1974 [21 Sept 1973] 40712/74 Heading A6D A table tennis bat is formed in one piece of plastics material, e.g. polystyrene, polyurethane or polypropylene, and has a reinforcing region 14 that is thicker than the blade 10 at the intersection of the blade and the handle 12 to provide the necessary rigidity. The plastics material is preferably a foam or it may be reinforced with fibreglass. A rough-surfaced rubber or plastics sheet is cemented to the blade and extends as far as the shoulder 16. The handle 12 is preferably shaped to the profile of the hand. Edging strip may be provided around the blade 10.
