Abstract
1461234 Yeast MITSUBISHI GAS CHEMICAL CO Inc 13 Jan 1975 [14 Jan 1974 17 April 1974] 1404/75 Heading C6F A process for producing yeast cells involves aerobically culturing a yeast belonging to the species Pichia aganobii nov. sp. in a nutrient medium comprising methanol and/or ethanol as the main carbon source and recovering the cultured yeast cells from the medium. The concentrations of methanol and/or ethanol are preferably maintained at 0À5 per cent by weight or less of each throughout the culturing. Glucose may additionally be included in the nutrient medium at the commencement of the culturing, at a concentration of up to 10 per cent by weight.
